Shilpa Shetty refuses to go bald

Despite rumours and reports to the contrary, actress Shilpa Shetty refuses to go bald for her role in the Indo Chinese film Desire. The film is currently being shot in Kerala.
In fact, currently the actress is shooting for her bald portions in the film. But she has managed to acquire the bald look with the help of prosthetics. Many years ago, actresses Shabana Azmi and Nandita Sen had shaven off their hair for a role in the aborted version of Deepa Mehta’s Water. Lisa Ray who

then went on to do act in the movie, is believed to have shed her hair for it. But not Shilpa, who feels that the very thought of going bald is scary. The actress also wanted to avoid continuity problems for her films. It takes a lot of guts and a total lack of vanity to be able to shed off one’s tresses and go bald. Unfortunately, Shilpa was not willing to take this kind of plunge. One of the best prosthetic make up artistes worked on her look for the shoot which is taking place at Kollam. After this schedule, the unit will move to another location before the final schedule at Kuala Lumpur. Shilpa is busy learning Odissi from Ratikant Mohapatra as she portrays an accomplished dancer of repute in n this part of the movie.
