MP Weather: Rains, Humid Conditions Prevail

Some areas in Madhya Pradesh witnessed rains while the mercury soared in others

Weather continued to play truant in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday with rains drenching citizens in 11 districts while a steep climb in daytime temperatures was recorded elsewhere.

Rainfall was registered ain various parts of the state, including Indore and Jabalpur, while mercury soared in several other districts. Khajuraho recorded temperatures exceeding 36 degrees Celsius.

It is noteworthy that a strong weather system has become active for the fourth time this September, resulting in rain across various districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 20 districts over the next 24 hours.

According to data released by the Meteorological Department, Sihora saw the highest rainfall of 2.5 inches from morning till about 5:30 PM,. Mandla recorded nearly 2 inches of rain, with heavy rainfall also reported in Umaria, Chhindwara, Betul, and Khandwa. Bhopal experienced light rain, while Dhar, Jabalpur, Rewa, and Indore also had periods of light rain.

While many districts recorded rainfall, others saw a significant rise in temperature. Data indicates that Khajuraho reached 36.8 degrees, Tikamgarh 36 degrees, Satna 35 degrees, Guna 35.6 degrees, Gwalior 35.8 degrees, and Ratlam 35 degrees Celsius. The capital city of Bhopal recorded a temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius, with noticeable humidity effects.

Senior Meteorological Department scientist Ved Prakash said simar conditions will prevail in the state over the next 2-3 days.

Monsoons in MP typically last from June to September, in recent years, the conclusion of rains has been pushed to October. This year too the monsoons are expected to depart around that time.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rainfall, predicting heavy rain with thunderstorms in the next 24 hours in Narasinghpur, Jabalpur (Bhedaghat), Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat, northern Seoni, Dindori, Alirajpur, and Jhabua.MP Rains, Madhya Pradesh Monsoon, rains
