Maoists Blast School Building in Jharkhand

A school building was blown up by Maoists at Banbirua in Jharkhand’s Latehar district, said a senior police officer on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Kuldip Dwivedi said that late on Monday night, a group of armed Maoists stuffed dynamites and triggered the blast late in the school at Banbirua.
He said that no casualty was reported in the incident.
The rebels exploded the structure to stop the security forces from making its use as a makeshift camp during the ensuring five-phase assembly elections starting on November 25.
A team of police personnel has reached the spot and launched raids against the Maoist guerrillas, Diwedi said.
