MP Sees Red over Diminishing Anti-Naxal Aid

Bhopal  –  Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday alleged instead of rewarding the state for wiping out Naxalism from Mandla and Dindori districts and effectively restricting it in Balaghat, the Centre has discontinued the aid for fighting the red menace.

“Instead of rewarding for wiping out Naxalism from Dindori and Mandla districts and effectively curbing it in Balaghat, the Centre has stopped the aid given to the state to fight the menace,” Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta was reported as saying in the State Assembly.

Gupta was replying to a debate on deteriorating law and order situation.

He claimed that in said in Balaghat, the Naxal menace was countered not just with guns but also with several developmental and welfare initiatives launched by the state government.
