11 Chota Shakeel Henchmen Held in K’taka
Throwing out of gear D-Company plans to consolidate its presence in coastal Karnataka, the state police are reported to have arrested eleven aides of underworld don Chhota Shakeel gang, including sharp shooter Ganesh Shetty.
While eight members of the gang were nabbed in Mangalore, the other three, including Shetty, were detyaind in Chikmagalur, following a raid conducted on the basis of information provided by those arrested earlier, reported PTI news agency citing Dakshina Kannada SP, Subramanyeshwara Rao.
The three had come to Chikamagalur to collect weapons for their operations in Mangalore, he said.
Another sharp shooter, Harish Shetty, however escaped, Rao said.
They were planning to strike in Mangalore and identified four members of rival Chhota Rajan gang whom they wanted to eliminate, he said.
