4 Injured In Explosion At Bengaluru Cafe, Forensics Team At Site

Four people were injured in an explosion at a cafe in Bengaluru’s Kundalahalli today, the police said. The police said they are trying to find out what caused the explosion at The Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular restaurant in the neighbourhood.

Three of the injured people are employees of the cafe, while the fourth is a customer, the police said.

The police have not ruled out any angle, sources said. A bomb squad and a forensics team are at the cafe.

There was no fire after the explosion, sources said, adding it doesn’t look like a cooking gas cylinder explosion.

BJP’s Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya in a post on X, formerly Twitter, said he spoke to the cafe owner about what could have caused the explosion that left four people injured.

“Just spoke to Rameshwaram Cafe founder Sri Nagaraj about the blast in his restaurant. He informed me that the blast occurred because of a bag that was left by a customer and not any cylinder explosion. One of their employees is injured. It seems to be a clear case of bomb blast. Bengaluru demands clear answers from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” Mr Surya said.
