New Delhi: After getting the humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to go for an organizational revamp. Former Delhi chief minister and party convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that this will bring a democratic touch to the decisions of the party and described this drive as a ‘mission vistar’.
Yadav had quit from AAP Political Affairs Committee after charging Kejriwal with ‘falling prey to personality cult’, while Ilmi had resigned from the party saying a coterie surrounding the former chief minister was running the party
At the end of the party’s three-day national executive meet on Sunday, Kejriwal announced that all existing committees of the party will be revamped.
On the basis of district and state unit, national council and national executive will be formed.
The newly elected executive i.e. political affairs committee (PAC) will be re-formed and will be the party’s highest decision-making body.
The restructuring work will be looked after by the party’s 10-member committee headed by convenor of party’s Karnataka unit Prithvi Reddy.AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Pankaj Gupta, Anand Kumar, Atishi Marlena, Parveen Amanullah, Anjali Damania are among other members of the panel.
The restructuring would be done within one year.
Out of around 440 seats contested by the AAP in the 16th Lok Sabha elections, it won only four.
