Advani, Karat, Yechury to Miss Somnath Farewell Banquet

In the midst of a fast worsening war of words with the Congress, BJP shadow prime minister LK Advani will not attend a farewell dinner hosted for former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Besides the BJP stalwart several other key leaders of the 14th Lok Sabha will also miss the banquet, CPI(M) leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury are unlikely to attend.

Chatterjee was expelled from the CPI(M) last year.
