Advani Meets Bhagwat
Senior BJP leader LK Advani met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday and the two are believed to have discussed the party’s future.
Sources said that Advani’s future role in the party was also discussed.
Media reports said quoting BJP sources that the leadership change was not discussed in the meeting. Also, the two leaders did not discussion anyone’s resignation.
At the same time, the RSS sources maintained that no succession plan for BJP was discussed in the meeting, describing meetings as normal routine meetings.
Earlier, it was assumed that the issue of the role that BJP’s gen-next would have in time to come would figure up in the meeting. However, sources said that the changes are not likely to occur soon and may take place over some months.
What is now expected is that Advani will make way for a new leadership to take over. While all plans for succession are expected to become clearer after the Advani-Bhagwat meeting, everything will unfold only slowly.
