Advani Vows NDA will Uproot Terror
Latest in the war of words between the Congress and BJP, the saffron party’s prime ministerial candidate LK Advani has blamed UPA government for being soft on terror and failing to check inflation, and vowed to eliminate terrorism from the country if NDA is voted to power.
Addressing an election rally in Araria, Bihar, he said that the Congress-led UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh has been a failure on uprooting militancy and containing spiraling prices of essential commodities.
Describing terror as the biggest challenge faced by the country, Advani said NDA government would not compromise on national interest. “The NDA’s commitment to rooting out terrorism is unequivocal. We will face it head on. We will stampt out terror from our soil,” he said.
Indirectly referring to the Congress, he said that those who took over the rein of power after Independence had been unable to realise the dream of development for which innumerable people had laid down lives.
Highlighting nuclear tests conducted during NDA’s tenure as a success, Advani said, “The nuke tests saw India’s prestige soar in the eyes of powerful western nations. In one moment, world’s perception of India underwent a radical change. We were catapulted among the world’s powerful nations.”
