AI Ticketless Passenger Remanded to Six-day Police Custody, Probe On
Habib Hussain, who stowed away in an Air India flight from Medina to Jaipur, has been sent to six-day police custody.
He was produced before a Magistrate in Jaipur, who sent him to police custody for six days.
A native of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, Hussain was found hiding in the toilet of the aircraft that took off with 273 Haj pilgrims returning home.
Reports said that he managed to get into inside the plane on the pretext of cleaning. He was arrested last night and booked under the Passport act.
Preliminary probe suggested that he did not want to cause any harm. Further investigations are on to find out the facts.
In the meanwhile, Hussain’s wife Hashima said that Habib hid on the Air India flight to Jaipur in a desperate attempt to flee torture from his employees.
She said that her husband used to complain of starvation and prolonged working hours while in Medina.
SP (Jaipur- East) B G Joseph said that Hussain would be produced before the court on January 2, 2010 after the remand.
This incident has been viewed as a serious security breach.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is in charge of airport security, had filed a complaint against Hussain.
