Baba ends his fast after 9 days
NEW DELHI: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founder of Art of Living after being refused twice eventually succeeded in ending the fast of Baba Ramdev by offering him juice.
While the baba Ramdev drank the glass of citrus fruit (Mausami) to end the 9 day fast that began at the Ramlila Ground in New Delhi on June 4, a host of saints including Morari Bapu, Kripalu ji Maharaj, Sant Gyananad of Haridwar were present there.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that Baba Ramdev had broken the fast but said that he would continue the Satyagraha till the objective he is struggling for is achieved.
“His health is improving and we hope he would be out of the hospital soon”, said the spiritual guru.
The Spiritual Guru said, his (Baba Ramdev) life is very precious and we could not have watched him give it up like that. The whole of the saint community urged him to end the fast so that he would continue to inspire the society, said he.
‘Anshan todo, desh jodo’ (end the fast and unite the country), said former Chief Minister of Haryana Om Prakash Chautala, appealing the Baba Ramdev to end fast.
Also Prakash Singh Badal earlier chief minister of Punjab and, former union minister Subramanyam Swami met Baba Ramdev at the hospital.
