Big leaders are going to join the Ekta Yatra of BJP
New Delhi: In the BJP’s controversial Ekta Yatra, senior-most leaders have decided to join the party’s youth wing, scheduled to culminate with the hoisting of the national flag at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk on Republic Day.
In the yatra Arun Jaitley, Anant Kumar, Sushma Swaraj are going to join in Jammu. The three leaders are expected shortly at the Jammu airport.
Tomorrow after the rally in Jammu, the yatra is meant to head to Srinagar’s Lal Chowk.
In 1948, it was here that Jawaharlal Nehru promised Kashmir a plebiscite. That speech forms the basis of separatist discourse. The BJP says hoisting the tricolor here will prove Kashmir is an integral part of India.
The Ekta Yatra was launched by the BJP’s youth wing in West Bengal on January 12 by party president Nitin Gadkari.
