BJP said- Rahul speaks the language of Pakistan: Congress is their puppet; Pak Defence Minister had said- We also want Article 370 to be restored
Controversy arose over the statement of Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Jammu and Kashmir. Asif had said that like the Congress and National Conference alliance, he also wants the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
On this statement of Khwaja, BJP in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir and party’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh said- It has become clear from the statement of Pakistan’s Defense Minister that Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah speak the language of Pakistan. They are dancing on Pakistan’s tunes. NC-Congress is working as a puppet of Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
Actually, Congress and National Conference are contesting the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections together. Farooq Abdullah had said that if the alliance comes to power, they will bring back Article 370.
Pak Defence Minister said – There is a possibility that a Conference government will be formed in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was talking on Pakistani news channel Geo News. Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir asked Khawaja whether Pakistan and the National Conference-Congress alliance are unanimous on the restoration of Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khawaja Asif replied, absolutely. This is our demand too.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister also claimed that Article 370 could come back if the National Conference-Congress alliance comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khwaja said- I think it is possible. Currently, the National Conference and Congress have great importance there. The population of the valley is very motivated on this issue and there is a possibility that the Conference (National Conference) will come to power. They have made it an election issue.
Amit Shah said- Pakistan and Congress have the same agenda
Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on social media, Pakistan’s Defence Minister’s statement about Congress and JKNC’s support on Article 370 and 35A has once again exposed Congress. This statement has once again made it clear that Congress and Pakistan have the same intentions and agenda. For the last few years, Rahul Gandhi has been standing with every anti-India force, hurting the sentiments of the countrymen.
Shah further wrote, whether it is asking for proof of air strikes and surgical strikes, or making objectionable comments about the Indian Army, Rahul Gandhi’s Congress Party and Pakistan have always been on the same page and Congress has always been with anti-national forces. But, the Congress Party and Pakistan forget that there is a Modi government at the Centre, so neither Article 370 is going to be brought back in Kashmir nor terrorism.

Assembly elections for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370 in 2019 Assembly elections were last held in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. Then BJP and PDP had formed a coalition government. The government fell after the coalition broke in 2018. After this, Governor’s rule (according to the Jammu and Kashmir Constitution at that time) remained in the state for 6 months. After this, President’s rule came into force.
The 2019 Lok Sabha elections were held during the President’s rule, in which the BJP returned to power at the Centre with a huge majority. After this, on 5 August 2019, the BJP government abolished Article 370 and divided the state into two union territories (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh). In this way, assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years.
The term of the new government will be 5 years instead of 6 years. The Supreme Court had ordered to conduct elections in Jammu and Kashmir by 30 September 2024. This will be the first assembly election after the removal of Article 370 from the state. After the elections, the term of the new government will be 5 years instead of 6 years.
Jammu-Kashmir has 90 seats, 7 added in delimitation There were 87 seats in Jammu-Kashmir in the 2014 Assembly elections. Out of which 4 were from Ladakh. After the separation of Ladakh, 83 seats were left. Later, after delimitation, 7 new seats were added. Of them 6 are in Jammu and 1 in Kashmir. Now elections will be held on a total of 90 seats. Of these 43 are in Jammu, 47 in Kashmir division. 7 seats are reserved for SC (Scheduled Caste) and 9 seats are reserved for ST (Scheduled Tribe).
