Champai Soren became the 12th CM of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren on 5-day remand
Champai Soren has become the 12th CM of Jharkhand. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered him the oath at 12.20 pm on Friday. Along with Champai, Congress’s Alamgir Alam and RJD’s Satyanand Bhokta also took oath as ministers. It is being said that there may be two Deputy CMs in the Champhai government. The government will have to prove majority in 10 days. After the oath, all the MLAs left for Hyderabad.
Champai Soren was elected the leader of the legislature party after the arrest of Hemant Soren in the land scam. The Governor had called him for the oath of office as CM late at 11 pm on Thursday night.
After swearing in, JMM-Congress MLAs left for Hyderabad by chartered plane.

Supreme Court rejected Soren’s petition
Earlier this morning, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has received a big blow from the Supreme Court. The court has refused to hear Soren’s petition against the arrest. The Supreme Court told him- You should have gone to the High Court first. The court said that if we give permission to one person then everyone will have to give it. The investigating agency had arrested Soren on the night of 31 January.
PMLA Court has sent Hemant Soren to ED remand for five days. Earlier on Thursday, no remand was received.
Elder brother Champai has become CM, very happy – Dikuram Soren
Dikuram Soren, younger brother of new Jharkhand CM Champai Soren, said, “…it is a matter of happiness…he has become the CM…”
