Coast Guard helicopter crashes into sea in Gujarat: 3 crew members missing, one rescued; had gone to cargo ship for rescue
Indian Coast Guard (ICG)’s Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv) crashed into the Arabian Sea near Porbandar coast of Gujarat. 3 out of 4 crew members on board the helicopter are missing. One has been rescued. The wreckage of the helicopter has been found. The incident took place on Monday (September 2)
An Indian Coast Guard Advanced Light Helicopter crashed into the sea while attempting a medical evacuation near Porbandar. The helicopter was dispatched to rescue a seriously injured crew member from the motor tanker Hari Leela. One crew member has been found; the search for three others is ongoing
According to Indian Coast Guard, the helicopter, carrying four aircrew members, was forced to make an emergency landing at sea while approaching the vessel. The cause of the emergency landing is still under investigation.
