Encounter: STF Guns Down Chandrapal ‘Chanda’ in Lucknow

Chandrapal alias Chanda, a notorious dacoit wanted by Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh police, was shot dead in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow on Tuesday, confirmed STF officials.

Chanda a native of Karvi in Chitrakoot district was initially associated with Deepak Patel gang but was later reported to have switched allegiance to the dreaded Ragia gang.

“Chandrapal alias Chanda, who was wanted in about 15 cases of abduction, dacoity and illegal confinement, was killed in an encounter with the STF team in Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar,” SSP STF Naveen Arora was quoted as saying in Lucknow.

He said Chanda carried a cash reward of Rs 20,000 on his head.
