Explosives Seized in Haridwar, High Alert Sounded
A huge cache of explosive material has been seized from Haridwar railway station, leading to a high alert in the temple town, reported Zee News.
Report said that the seizure was made on February 2 when security personnel recovered a suspect radio device from the station premises, which eventually led to the recovery of one-and- half kilos of ammonium nitrate and nine detonators.
In connection with the case, police arrested two youth hailing from Orissa, said report.
Police have declined to reveal any further details pending investigations, report said.
With lakhs of devotees turning up at the bathing ghats everyday, the authorities are not taking any chances and have beefed up security.
