Khandwa.The second Jal-Mahotsava concluding at Hanumantiya is real celebrations of happiness. Development of Hanumantiya as per the expectations of the chief minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is a unique endeavour. Efforts should be made so that more and more tourists visit Hanuwantiya in near future. Energy minister Shri Paras Chandra Jain said this, addressing concluding function of the second Jal-Mahotsava in Hanuwantiya. Shri Jain said that Hanuwantiya is so attractive that people need not to go any island or other foreign tourist place. Discussing master plan of Hanuwantiya, Shri Jain said that private sector would be invited for participation in tourism development.
Presiding over the function, MP and BJP state president Shri Nandkumar Chouhan said that Hanuwantiya has become so famous that people have queried about it in New Delhi and other states also. He hopes that it would be soon on tourism map as a major tourist spot.
Shri Chouhan said that the credit for this spring that has emerged in deserted Hanuwantiya goes to farmers. Farmers changed the landscape by giving land for the construction of Indira Sagar dam. The beautiful land is like sea on earth. The place would develop as Madhyadeep in the coming days. Mentioning Burhanpur, Shri Chouhan said that Ahuhan and Kundi Bhandara like places are there and Bajirao Peshwa Ki Samadhi is near. They are needed to publicise more. Shri Chouhan said that foreign money would come through Hanuwantiya Jal Mahotsava and its contribution will be important in state’s economy.
Chairman of State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Tapan Bhaumik delivered welcome speech and said that 5.25 lakh tourists attended one-month-long Jal Mahotsava. He said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s dream project Hanuwantiya has attracted all. This is the pride for the state. He greeted director Shri Mukesh Chobey and film artist Shri Shakti Kapoor for shooting of film Bheema Naik started today in Hanuwantiya.
State tourism secretary and MD of Tourism Corporation Shri Hari Ranjan Rao said that final draft of master plan of Hanuwantiya and eight surrounding villages has been published. It would pave the way for tourism development as per the expectations of the Chief Minister. Participation of private investors would increase. Tourism Development Corporation would carry out infrastructure development. Entire area would be promoted as ‘Madhyadeep- the Grand Reservoir’. Shri Rao said that private houseboat and cruise etc. would be operated in the state as per decision of the high power committee. Water tourism would be developed in Gandhi Sagar, Bargi, Tawa also. Shri Rao said that tourism sector cannot progress without the participation of private sector. Private investors have come for operating cruise from Badwani to Sardar Sarovar. He said that rising number of tourists in Jal-Mahotsava is an evidence of the fact that the state needs such tourist destination.
Speaking on Responsible Tourism, Shri Rao said that initiative to link local people with the employment in tourism sector will be taken. Guests were welcomed by Shri Tapan Bhoumik and Shri Rao in the beginning. The evening of the concluding programme was begun with tableau of “Ram Darbar” and “Shri Ramchandra Kripalu Bhajman” and stuti of Narmada. Large number of tourists came from far places were present in the month long Jal-Mahotsav. They enjoyed the adventurous activities of water, land and sky due to pleasant climate during the Jal-Mahotsav. MLAs Shri Lokendra Singh Tomar, Shri Devendra Verma, Mayor Khandwa Shri Subhash Kothari, Member of Board of Director Tourism Corporation Shri Hirendra Singh Shekhawat were present in the programme. Vote of thanks was given by Executive Director of Tourism Corporation Shri O.V. Chowdhary.
