India to Have Highest No of Educated People by 2030: Sibal

Stressing on the use of technology to spread education to dispossessed areas of the country, Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal has said that there will be the highest number of educated people in India by 2030, reported ANI.

The minister said that the government was putting emphasis on the use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to enhance access to education among people living in rural and geographically disadvantageous areas, said report.

He said that technology would play a vital role in the education sector in the 21st century and that an ICT mission had been put in place by the government, report said.

Sibal urged the states, civil society, parents and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to move in the right direction, report said.

For dealing with absenteeism of the teachers, he said that teachers should be provided with mobiles phones, which will specify the exact place where the teacher is positioned at any given point of time.
