Kolkata displaces Delhi from top
DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders displayed Delhi Daredevils from top spot. Consistent performances from Kolkata batsman guide their team to victory against Devils but also placed them top of the table.
Gambhir continues his rollicking form with bat and made 36 runs in 21bbaals and added 68 runs for the first wicket.
Mc Cullum also played well and made 56 runs. Kallis also batted well and made 30 runs. They attain the target of 154 runs with 8 balls to spare. Umesh Yadav picks two wickets.
Earlier, Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first. They include Aussie blaster Warner in place of the outgoing English all rounder Kevin Petersen.
Both give Delhi an explosive start but none of the batsman was able to play a big inning. It was Irfan Pathan knock of 36 that gave Delhi a decent total to put upa fight. Because of this Delhi was only able to set a modest target of 153 runs. Kallis bowled very well and removed both openers. Narine also pick two wickets.

Jacques Kallis is Man of the Match. Kallis: “It has been a fantastic season for us. Captain has had a fantastic season. Our wicket at Kolkata does not have this sort of carry. It was good to deliver on this sort of wicket. We are focussing on trying to end up first or second and get through to the final.”

Sehwag: “I think we were 20-25 runs short. We did not capitalise in the middle overs. Sunil Narine bowled really well. [Narine will] not work against me, I have played him and will smash him, but others might have a problem against him because he is difficult to pick. But he is a good young bowler, he is learning fast. 150-odd was not a bad total, our fielding and bowling was not upto the mark, when you are giving boundary balls, it is difficult to set a field. We decided to give the spinner [Nadeem] a chance because Gautam is batting well against the fast bowlers.”
