Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in development sector laudable : Rajnath

Bhopal: Member of Parliament and senior leader Shri Rajnath Singh has said that Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in development sector are laudable. He specially referred to Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in improving facilities of power, roads and water. He said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan deserves praise that Madhya Pradesh, which was once regarded as a Bimaru state, has become a progressive state under his leadership.

Shri Rajnath Singh was launching Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply in Rewa district today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and MP Shri Narendra Singh Tomar were also present on the occasion.
Shri Rajnath Singh said that the way power generating capacity here is increasing and new power plants are being set up, Madhya Pradesh will become leading state in power generation in years to come since. He also lauded successful implementation of public welfare schemes along with achievements in agriculture and irrigation sectors.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that state’s economy will become vibrant with round-the-clock power supply. He said that an industrial corridor will be developed between Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna and Singrauli. Industrialists have been told to provide 50 percent jobs to local people. Referring to various welfare schemes and development activities, the Chief Minister said that Yuva Swarozgar Yojana has been launched to help youths set up their own business and industries. Rs. 150 per quintal bonus is being given to farmers on wheat procurement. Wheat at the rate of Re. 1 per kg and rice at Rs. 2 per kg will be provided to the poor from June 1.
Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that new vistas of progress will open up with start of 24-hour power supply. He informed that power generation capacity will rise to 14000 MW next year. A target has been set to increase to 17 thousand 500 MW by year 2017-18.
MP Shri Narendra Singh Tomar described the launch of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Rewa district as a historic event. Shri Arvind Menon, Mayor Shri Shivendra Singh, MPs Shri Ganesh Singh and Shri Devraj Singh, MLAs Shri Nagendra Singh, Shri Laxman Tiwari, Shri Abhay Mishra, Smt. Panna Bai, Shri Madan Mohan Gupta, Shri Ajay Pratap Singh and Shri Kamleshwar Singh and Laghu Udyog Nigam Chairman Shri Akhand Pratap Singh were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Shri Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also handed over keys and delivery papers to beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana. Exhibition put up by Public Relations and other departments was centre of people’s attraction.
