Man behind graffiti in Delhi Metro targeting Arvind Kejriwal arrested: Cops
Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for writing messages threatening Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal at the Patel Nagar and Rajiv Chowk metro stations in the national capital.
The accused has been identified as Ankit Goyal, a resident of Bareilly, and the Metro Unit of Delhi Police has registered an FIR, the police said, adding that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Sources told Goyal is highly educated and works at a renowned bank. He is not associated with any political party.
The accused had come to Greater Noida from Bareilly to buy a house and was staying at a five-star hotel.
Without providing evidence, police sources also suggested that Goyal’s mental condition was not good.
After the graffiti surfaced, AAP accused the BJP of being behind the incident, and claimed the saffron party was rattled by the fact that it’s going to be defeated in all seven constituencies in Delhi in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections
