Monsoon tracker of the country: Water on houses and railway tracks in UP, NDRF on alert; Schools closed in Bihar-Odisha; Red alert in 3 states including Maharashtra

Heavy rains occurred in 10 cities of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow-Varanasi late at night. Railway track got submerged in Sultanpur. There was 2 feet water in the streets here and houses got flooded in Sultanpur. NDRF, SDRF have been put on alert.

Due to the rising waters of Ganga and Kosi rivers in Bihar, there is a flood like situation in Katihar. 57 schools have been closed here. Ganga is also in spate in Hathidah of Patna.

Due to heavy rains in Puri, Odisha, the courtyard of the Konark Sun Temple was submerged. The Puri district administration has also closed all schools. 1.5 inches of rain was recorded here in 24 hours, Bhubaneswar also received 1 inch of rain.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 8 states including Madhya Pradesh today. Out of these, there is a red alert in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa.

Alert in 10 districts of MP, 20 districts of Rajasthan, temperature in Bikaner 41 degrees

  • Heavy rain is expected in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh today. Yellow alert has been issued for more than 20 districts in Rajasthan. On the other hand, the heat has intensified in Bikaner. The maximum temperature has reached 41 degrees Celsius.
  • The water level of many rivers including Ganga rose in Uttarakhand. In Vadodara, Gujarat, winds blew at a speed of 110 kmph and 3 inches of rain was recorded. One person died due to cloudburst in Himachal.
  • Orange alert has been issued in Palghar, Maharashtra and Yellow alert in Thane-Raigad. On Thursday, a 22-year-old woman died after drowning in a waterfall in Raigad.

Heavy rain in 12 states on September 28

  • On September 28, an alert for heavy rain has been issued in Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
  • The spell of rain will continue in some districts of Rajasthan till September 29. Heavy rains are also expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka till September 29. There is also a possibility of lightning here.

Delay in withdrawal of monsoon The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the departure of the southwest monsoon from Rajasthan begins on September 17. This time it was delayed by a week, that is, on September 23. Due to this, the monsoon is unlikely to end in Pune and Mumbai before October 10-12. Usually the withdrawal of monsoon from Maharashtra happens around October 5.

IMD scientist SD Sanap said that due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and its possibility of moving northwest, there will be good rain in Maharashtra from September 26. Heavy rains are expected in Maharashtra and Goa till September 28.

According to IMD, rain has started in Maharashtra after a long gap in this monsoon season. In such a situation, it is too early to predict the end of monsoon from Maharashtra in October. 

There will be heavy rain in Malwa-Nimar (Indore-Ujjain division) of Madhya Pradesh for the next 2 days. Jabalpur-Gwalior division will also get wet. After this the weather will clear and the sun will come out. Monsoon may also leave in the first week of October. So far, an average of 42.6 inches of rain has fallen in MP.

The monsoon going to Rajasthan has become active once again. On Thursday, light rain occurred in 10 districts of south-eastern Rajasthan including Jalore, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Baran, Baswara, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur. Jaipur has issued a yellow alert for more than 20 districts of Rajasthan today.

It rained overnight in 11 cities of UP on Thursday. It rained so much in Pratapgarh that water entered the houses. The railway track in Sultanpur was flooded. The streets are filled with 2 feet of water. A house collapsed. It rained overnight with strong winds in Lucknow.

Heavy rain alert has been issued in 17 districts of Bihar. Orange alert has been issued in 4 districts and yellow alert has been issued in 13 districts. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur in Bihar for the next two days. During this time, strong winds will blow at a speed of 10-50 km.

Yellow alert has been issued for 15 districts of Chhattisgarh today. There may be lightning along with thunder in Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Balodabazar, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Surguja, Jashpur, Surajpur, Korea, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Balrampur.

Monsoon is still active in Haryana. This is the reason why there are chances of change in weather in 13 districts of the state even today. These include Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sonipat, Panipat, Yamunanagar, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Rewari, Faridabad, Palwal and Mewat districts.

The weather has become cold due to rain in some districts of Punjab and Chandigarh. The maximum temperature of the state has dropped by 4.2 degrees. This is 1.6 degrees less than the normal temperature. The highest temperature recorded in the state is 35.4 degrees. There may be rain at some places in 16 districts of the state.

A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in 7 districts of Himachal Pradesh today. This warning has been given to Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. People have also been asked to be cautious about flash floods in the low-lying areas of these districts.
