Nafisa Ali Replaces Sanjay Dutt as SP Candidate

Former Miss India and noted social activist Nafisa Ali has replaced Bllywood icon Sanjay Dutt as the Samajwadi Party (SP) Lok Sabha candidate from the Lucknow parliamentary segment.

SP had earlier named Dutt as the party nominee from the Uttar Pradesh capital, but later had to retract after the Supreme Court refused to relent with a waiver Dutt, an Arms Act convict, had to earn before contesting elections.

The SP announced Ali’s candidature on Sunday.
