Naresh Dwivedi being arrested on CM’s order
LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Banda MLA Purushottam Naresh Dwivedi was held on Thursday for allegedly raping a Dalit minor in his constituency. Dwivedi was arrested from Attarra area of Banda , a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati ordered his arrest.
The Chief Minister ordered his arrest after a preliminary report was submitted by the crime branch of the CID. In its report the CID mentioned that the 17-year-old girl was gangraped. Mayawati had earlier suspended Dwivedi from the party for his involvement in the case.
The rape victim had accused Dwivedi and his henchmen of not only gang raped her but also using his influence to falsely implicate her in theft case.
