he National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday passed a resolution to transform India into a strong nation, as envisaged by freedom fighters, within three years. The NDA hopes to complete the task before India completes 75 years of Independence in 2022, if voted to power. The resolution was passed during a meeting held in The Ashok Hotel in New Delhi. In a meeting, days before the Lok Sabha Election results, the alliance members discussed the agenda for the next government, BJP leader Rajnath Singh told media. “We have vowed to form a strong India as envisaged by our freedom fighters by 2022, when India completes 75 years of independence,” Rajnath Singh said at the press conference. Rajnath Singh said that, if voted to power, the NDA will push the pace of development in next five years. He also promised a 25 lakh crore investment in agriculture sector. Apart from Rajnath Singh, the press conference was addressed by BJP chief Amit Shah, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan and JDU president Nitish Kumar. The NDA resolution also condemned the poll violence that took place in West Bengal during last phases of the Lok Sabha Election 2019. During the NDA meet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the NDA allies and said that they played an important role in fulfilling regional aspirations. “NDA has played an important role in fulfilling regional aspirations. It has become a strong pillar now. The alliance is now stronger than before,” PM Narendra Modi said. Expressing concern over the plight of the poor, PM Narendra Modi said that the it was time to change the narrative in the country. “Poor is the biggest caste/community in India,” he said at the meeting. PM Narendra Modi also expressed concern over the “needless controversy” created by the Opposition over EVMs. Earlier in th evening, BJP president Amit Shah hosted a dinner for the NDA leaders at the New Delhi hotel. The dinner was followed by the meeting, where top leaders of the NDA were sitting on the dais with Modi, on whose one side was Shah and on other its was SAD’s Parkash Singh Badal, the senior most leader of the alliance. The meeting followed another meeting of the council of ministers called by Shah to thank them for “their service to the nation.” The NDA meeting assumes significance as it has been called just days before the announcement of the Lok Sabha poll’s results on May 23, in which almost all the exit polls have projected the alliance getting clear majority in the Lower House.
