PM Back to Work, Meets Benin
PM After a bypass surgery rendered him out of action for nearly five weeks, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh got back into the thick of things on Wednesday. In his first official engagement held an official meeting with Benin President, Boni Yayi, at his 7, Race Course Road residence in New Delhi.
Doctors attending to Singh say, the leader is “fine and fit.” Though Singh has been tending to urgent official residence work from his residence the meeting with Yayi was the first official engagement since he underwent coronary heart surgery on January 24.
According to media reports, Singh held delegation-level discussions with the Yayi and oversaw signing of some agreements with the West African nation.
Singh underwent a ”redo” coronary artery bypass surgery to remove five blockages in his heart at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and has since been recuperating.
