Prakash Gets Interim Relief in Sukna Land Scam

In Sukna land scam, former military secretary Lt Gen Avadesh Prakash has been provided interim relief at the Armed Forces Tribunal on a petition moved by him challenging action against him in the scam, reported the Times of India.

Prakash faces court martial in the case for allegedly misusing his position after Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor gave go-ahead for action against Prakash on Defence Minister AK Antony’s recommendations.

For now, the tribunal set aside the findings of the court, giving Lt Gen Prakash an opportunity to cross examine the witnesses who testified against him in his absence, said report.

The tribunal has given two months time to complete the process.
