New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday strongly opposed the move by Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat to include lessons on his struggle in life in school curriculum and said living individuals should not be a part of the school syllabus. “I firmly believe that the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum,” he tweeted
Noting that ‘India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today’, Modi said, “Young minds should read about these greats & emulate them.” The Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh governments have decided to include Modi’s life in school syllabus.
Chudasma further said selected important and inspiring events which took place until Modi became the Prime Minister would be in included and added that a process has been initiated to form a committee to prepare the final list of events to be included.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh government had earlier said that lessons on Modi’s life may be included in the school curriculum to inspire the students.
