Ravi Shastri Could Be Next IPL Commissioner: Reports
Former Indian cricket team captain and commentator Ravi Shashtri is emerging as a surprise front runner for IPL chief’s post as beleaguered Lalit Modi’s exist becomes inevitable, said media reports citing unnamed sources.
According to reports, Shastri’s name has been doing rounds as the next IPL commissioner for the past two days.
Other media reports also claim that majority of BCCI top officials, including president Shashank Manohar, wants to appoint Shastri, who is presently member of the IPL Governing Council.
There are two other Indian captains Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Sunil Gavaskar who are in the Governing Council.
Pataudi told a TV channel earlier this week that IPL’s money sources should be looked into.
The voice and vote of these three captains will also be quite important at the IPL Governing Council meeting on Monday.
