Rukhsana Kausar Earns Bravery Medal
Continuing her tryst with destiny – Rukhsana Kausar (20), who literally shot to prominence killing a Lashkar-e-Tayyeba militant and wounding another to save her family from armed terrorists that barged into her Jammu home on September 27, has been named as one of the recipients of the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak.
According to reports, Jammu & Kashmir Governor NN Vohra had recommended the honour for Rukhsana, now a special police officer with the state police.
Apart from Rukhsana, the other nominee for the medal is Narender Kaushik, who will be honoured posthumously.
This year seven recipients will get the Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak while the Jeevan Raksha Padak will be presented to 44 persons.
