Shatrughan Praises Rahul Gandhi Again

A day after he showered lavish praise on young Amethi MP and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha on Monday stuck to his comments and said he saw a bright future ahead for the young man.

The actor-turned politician, known for his booming voice and dialogue delivery said that his statements in Nagpur yesterday were blessings to the young Gandhi, who Sinha said has had “a very good upbringing.”

Sinha had triggered rumour mills by lavishing praise on Rahul Gandhi after meeting RSS leaders in Nagpur.

“The way he has been working in the grass root, the way he has been travelling, the way he has been moving around… I think he could be a… Tomorrow I definitely see a bright future for him,” he was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.

The Nagpur comments coming in the midst of an ongoing poll campaign in Maharashtra, where the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance is vowing to end a 10 year rule of the Congress-NCP alliance government came as a shock and an embarrassment to the party.

Reacting to the remarks, the BJP has maintained that the comments were reflective of Sinha’s personal opinion of an individual and had nothing to do with the party.
