So-called Godman Attempts to Rape US Tourist at Rishikesh
A so-called swami allegedly tried to rape an American tourism at Rishikesh, some 45 km from Dehra Dun, reported PTI citing police.
In her complaint to the police, a 25-year-old woman, who belongs to Los Angeles, said that a saffron-clad godman on Tuesday tried to rape her on the pretext of giving her an ayurvedic massage, report said.
A case was registered against the unidentified person and investigation begun, said report.
The woman had come to the town two days ago and the US embassy has been informed about the incident, report said.
Last month, a British woman was allegedly gangraped in Rishikesh.
