Special IAF Plane to Bring Back Ravi on Wednesday
A special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft will bring back Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vyalar Ravi to Chennai on Wednesday night from Abidjan – the capital of Ivory Coast – where he has been undergoing treatment after he suffered injuries in an accident in Monrovia, Liberia on February 4.
The aircraft will provide on board all medical support required by the minister.
Ravi miraculously escaped with minor injuries when a taxi rammed into the car he was traveling in. He was on his way to the airport to board a flight to Nigeria.
He was shifted to Abidjan after being administered initial medical aid in Monrovia.
The minister’s health is reported to be stable and he is recovering well.
In a statement, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Indian community, and also the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister for making arrangements for his return.
