Suspected Honour Killing: Boy Murdered, Girl Missing
In a case of suspected honour killing, a BBA student has been murdered by the family of a girl with whom he had eloped two months ago, said media reports.
Ajit Saini, who was in his early twenties, was found dead in New Mani area in Muzaffarnagar, reports said.
Police said that his throat was found slit and legs cut off, said reports.
Anshu Tomar, his girl friend who is also in her early twenties, is missing and police suspect that she has also been killed though her body has not been found, reports said.
Talking to reporters yesterday, SP (city) Rajiv Malhotra said that girl’s father Narendra Tomar and brother Anuj were arrested on the basis of the complaint filed by the boy’s family, said reports.
Anshu and Ajit had eloped two months ago but they returned home on April 19 after they were given an assurance that their marriage would soon be solemnised.
The body of the deceased boy has been sent for post-mortem, reports said.
