Terror Threat to Vaishno Devi Shrine: Govt
Government has said that the Hindu shrine Vaishno Devi in Jammu is one of the targets on terrorists radar, reported PTI.
“Central Security Agencies have furnished inputs based on intelligence intercepts to that effect. It is not in public interest to disclose these facts,” Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran was quoted as saying in Rajya Sabha in a written response to a question in the regard.
The minister also informed that the central security agencies regularly carry out security audit of all significant pilgrimage centres including Tirupathi and Shirdi, said report.
“The Ministry has sent advisories to the State Government and Union Territories Administration to prepare appropriate security plans in order to secure and protect these religious places,” he was quoted as saying.
