Two in Two at Home for Shahrukh’s Riders

KOLKATA: Kolkata made it two wins in two games at their home ground at Eden Gardens. They started their chase well and lost the wicket of Gambhir at 22 runs in fourth over.

Kallis once again played beautifully and made 31 His well supported by Bisla and Tiwary. Doeschate hit the winning runs by smashing Chavan out of the ground for a huge six.

Batting first Rajasthan Royals started well with 45 for 0 at one stage but Shakib Al Hasan struck three important blows right when Kolkata Knight Riders needed them, squeezing out whatever momentum Rajasthan Royals had managed to build on a dry and turning Eden Gardens pitch. Shakib dismissed Rahane, Dravid and Goswami. He took three wickets for just 17 runs.

Shah once against played a decent innings of 31 runs in 33 balls. Royals took 15 runs off the last over to set Knight Riders a demanding target. They set a target of 132 for Knight Riders.

Gautam Gambhir:”Always knew 120-125 will be a good, but we had the batting to chase it down. They started well but Shakib did well along with Narine and later the batsmen did well. Narine is a mystery bowler, difficult to play, the way he bowled the 19th over was tremendous.”

Rahul Dravid: “We always knew it was a competitive score, but they built up a partnership after an early wicket. We knew we had to go hard up front and set up a base, the experience to play on these tracks will help the youngsters. Not comfortable losing two in a row, hope to bounce back soon.”

Shakib is the man of the match. “Love playing here, the early wickets boosted me, settled my nerves down. I felt this was a pitch where I needed to bowl well on this pitch for my time and did that. We needed a run a ball here and then a boundary here and there and we did just that to win the game”
