Wife, Minor Daughters of IAF Officers Found Dead

Wife and two minor daughters of an India Air Force (IAF) officer were found dead at their residence in the Eastern Air Command headquarters in Shillong, IANS reported quoting officials.

IAF spokesperson Wing Commander Ranjib Sahoo said that Praveen Akhtar, aged 26 and wife of Sergeant Shamim Akhtar was found hanging along with her daughters Samita (5) and Sania (3), said report.

Sahood said that Akhtar spotted the bodies when he came back from office, said report, adding  that police said that no suicide note was found.

“The bodies have been sent for post mortem to confirm the circumstances behind the incident,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) Vivek Syiem was quoted as saying.
