Yeddyurappa in Rashtrapati Bhawan with 121 BJP MLAS
NEW DELHI: Tuesday evening BS Yeddyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan with 121 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAS to show that his government still in majority in the state Assembly.
Karnataka CM reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan accompanied by senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu where he will parade the 121 MLAs before President Pratibha Patil in a show of strength after Governor HR Bhardwaj sent a report to the Union Cabinet recommending the imposition of President’s Rule in the state.
Thousands of BJP leaders and workers are protesting against the Governor in Bangalore.The BJP has stepped up the offensive demanding the recall of Bhardwaj.
Sources said, the Centre is unlikely to accept Bhardwaj’s recommendation to dismiss the government of BS Yeddyurappa.
