Youth Suspected behind Beheading of Schoolboy Arrested
In connection with the killing of a schoolboy who was beheaded on an island near Pune, a 19-year-old youth has been taken into custody, said media reports citing police.
Police said that Ashish Mapre, the suspect, is believed to be one of the three persons who killed the 15-year-old Abhishek Ghorpade in cold blood on May 5, reports said.
The culprits had severed his head and hanged the body on a tree, said reports.
Besides, police detained two minors for interrogation in the case, reports said.
Previous enmity was reported to be the factor behind the gruesome act of teenage violence, said reports.
The last rites of the deceased were performed by his parents in the presence of his grieving friends and teachers even as fire brigade and police divers gave up their efforts to recover the victim’s head thrown in river Mutha that flows through the city.
