Gopinath Munde dies after cardiac arrrest

New Delhi: Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde, who met with an accident this morning died after suffering a cardiac attack. He was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS after his convoy met with an accident. Talking to media, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “Munde met with an accident near LK Advani’s residence.”

His body would be flown to Maharashtra on Tuesday. Digvijay condoles demise of Munde: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday condoled the demise of Union Rural Development Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde, who breathed his last here on Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest. “Shocked to hear the sad demise of Gopinath Munde a personal friend and a great leader. My heartfelt condolences to the Family,” he said on micro-blogging site Twitter. Munde met with a road accident at Aurobindo Marg in south Delhi when he was on his way to the airport. He was first admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital when he met with the accident and was then shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre where he was declared dead.

Munde’s funeral will take place at his native village in Latur, Maharashtra, on Wednesday
