Madhya Pradesh becomes first state in country in e-payment

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country where e-payment is being made to private institutions, contractors, vendors etc. by the State Government. State of the Year Award and Golden Award have been bestowed on Madhya Pradesh for outstanding works in e-payment sector. This information was given at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
At the meeting, Commissioner Treasury and Accounts Shri T. Dharmarao gave information about these awards. He informed that e-payment is being made by 187 out of 212 treasuries in the state. Of the total payments in the state, 87 percent transactions are being made through e-payment. He informed that Madhya Pradesh Treasury and Accounts has been honoured with Golden Award for outstanding works in digital inclusion sector.
He informed that Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna and other schemes’ online monitoring, development of software under BRISK scheme for recovery of outstanding dues and online recruitment process of patwaris have been lauded while selecting Madhya Pradesh for State of the Year Award. He informed that Digital Inclusion Award 2012 instituted by non-government organisation SKOCH was bestowed on the state by Union Minister Shri Salman Khurshid in New Delhi. Planning Commission of India Vice-Chairman Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Unique Identity Authority of India Chairman Shri Nandan Nilekani were also present at this grand function.
