108 supports prevention of suicides on Suicide Prevention day

BHOPAL: Every year as many as 1,000,000 people are estimated to suicide across the world and many more make nonfatal attempt. Suicide Prevention day promotes world wide commitment and action to prevent suicides.

World Health Organization’s report said, on an average, almost 3000 people commit suicide daily.

On the Occasion of World Suicide Prevention day, 108 remember and Salutes the Suicide preventers who showed their trust on 108 and saved a life of person who was committing suicide.

Emergency Management and Research Institute GVK in Partnership with government of Madhya Pradesh is providing 108 Emergency Response Services in Bhopal, Sagar, Damoh, Sehore, Datia, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Indore and Rewa. This service till date, has attended over 3669 Suicide cases, where 108 reached the scene on time and saved the life of person who was committing the suicide.

In India percentage of Youth making the Suicide attempts is increasing. But you can call the 108 and can save a life of a person who was attempting the suicide.
