Successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission is collective responsibility of public representatives, officers and employees: CM Chouhan

Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Jal Jeevan Mission is an ambitious scheme. This mission, which will be implemented with the resources of the central and state governments, will ensure the availability of tap water in every household. Successful implementation of the scheme is the collective responsibility of all public representatives and officers and employees. It is necessary to be aware of the construction works being done in the scheme and to ensure quality work within the time limit. Water sources should be identified in such a way that continuous water supply can be ensured in the summer season. The restoration work of the excavation done for laying the pipeline in the mission should be completed immediately on priority. District and state-level officers should ensure that the works are completed with quality and time limit by visiting them at regular intervals. All the restoration works should be compulsorily completed before the rainy season.

CM Chouhan was conducting a state-level review of ongoing works under the mission. All the districts participated virtually in the meeting. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dr. Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Forest Minister Kunwar Dr. Vijay Shah, Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silavat, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Brijendra Singh Yadav, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing O. P. S Bhadoria, Minister of State for School Education (Independent Charge) Inder Singh Parmar, Chief Secretary  Iqbal Singh Bains along with officers and representatives of construction agencies were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the districts should prepare a roadmap for their works and fix week-wise targets, speed up the work, and get the works completed by June-July on priority. For the smooth operation and maintenance of the schemes, the members of Gram Panchayats, Village Water and Sanitation Committee should be made aware of and entrusted with the responsibility. It was told that all the 254 villages of Burhanpur district has been certified as Har Ghar Jal Gram (village having water in all homes).
