252 minor irrigation projects completed in state
Bhopal: Last year, 26 lakh 59 hectares have been irrigated in the state and 252 minor irrigation projects completed. This was informed at the review meeting of Water Resources Department chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that irrigation project works should be completed in less time. Special attention should be paid to further increase in irrigation capacity in the areas including Sagar and Bhopal divisions where its possibilities exist.
The meeting was informed that work is on to repair major and medium projects’ canals. ACS Finance Shri Ajay Nath, Principal Secretary Water Resources Shri R.S. Julaniya, Principal Secretary Narmada Valley Development Shri Rajneesh Vaish and Secretary to CM Shri Hari Ranjan Rao were present during the meeting.
