After bypoll defeat, Shivraj Singh Chouhan keeps date with Mungaoli

BHOPAL: After the last week defeat in Mungaoli and Kolaras bypolls, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Mungaoli constituency on Sunday for thanksgiving.
Chouhan held a hitgrahi sammelan (beneficiaries meet) at two small villages of the constituency – Dondiya and Guneru Bamori. Both the villages, had preferred BJP over Congress.
In Dondiya Congress got just 90 votes while the BJP got 490 votes.
“I am here to thank the voters,” Chouhan told a small gathering while distributing cheques of a selfemployment scheme of the government.
He directed officials to start survey for a small bridge. He said he had asked for 5 months during campaigning and promised to complete development works of five years. People of Dondiya had given BJP votes and government is starting development works as promised. He said that he would ensure that the Mungaoli is developed. Chouhan said that despite the defeat, he would continue to visit the constituency.
His chopper then flew to Guneru Bamori village where he also addressed the villagers who had voted more for BJP.

Chouhan told the villagers that the vote percentage of the BJP had gone up and the party got 79,000 votes in Mungaoli which is much more than the total votes polled by the party in the 2013 elections. As compared to a defeat margin of 25,000 votes, the BJP lost this time with a margin of 2,124 votes in Mungaoli. Before leaving for Mungaoli in the afternoon while talking to reporters in the morning Chouhan had admitted that he had “kasak”(niggle) for not winning the by-polls.
He also announced he would reach Kareela village of Ashoknagar, famous for Janki temple, on March 6, the day when Rangpanchami is celebrated.
As promised, the CM said, development works would start at Kareela and on March 6 he would preside over bhumi pujan ofthe development works including renovation of the temple.
Congress leader Jyotiradiya Scindia who had spearheaded campaign in both Kolaras and Mungaoli is scheduled to address a thanksgiving rally in Mungaoli on March 7.
