Agar-Malwa is 51st district of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Government on Wednesday announced creation of a new district — Agar-Malwa, taking the total number of districts in the State to 51.

However, the new district will come into being from Friday, August 16, 2013. The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The new district, which will have a total population of 4.80 lakh to over 2785 square kilometers, has been carved out by excluding Agar, Badaud, Susner and Nalkhera tahsils from Shajapur district. It will have two sub-divisions Agar and Susner. Situated on Indore-Kota highway, Agar is mainly agrarian with 1.07 lakh farmers and 2 lakh hectares arable land.
The Cabinet also gave its approval to the required posts of Collector, Superintendent of Police, Deputy Collectors, ASP, DSPs, Treasury officer, Deputy Director Agriculture, Executive Engineer, PWD and other necessary posts. It further granted to create 163 new posts for SP office and working police force. The responsibilities for offices of district-level officers etc have been entrusted to Ujjain Divisional Commissioner.
The Cabinet also endorsed Mukhyamantri Yuva Engineer-Contractor Yojana announced by Chief Minister Chouhan at Yuva Panchayat. Under the scheme, 500 young engineers holding civil and electrical engineer’s degree will be imparted six months’ internship training. Public Works department has been appointed as a nodal department for the scheme. Intern should be a domicile of the State. If number of applicants is more than their selection will be made through lottery system.
In the selection, reservation quota prescribed by the State Government under Sewa Bharti Niyam for SC, ST and women will be adhered to. The Cabinet further approved amendment in Rule 3 of Madhya Pradesh Gaun Khanij Niyam 1966. According to it, permission to mine minor minerals will be granted to Water Users Associations from Government land allotted to them. This will ensure expansion of irrigation facility in the State. Muram (coarse sand) is used on large scale in Government construction works in the State.
The Cabinet also decided to continue scheme to provide short-term interest-free loans to farmers through cooperative banks during the current fiscal year 2013-14. It also decided to set due date for re-payment of loans distributed for Kharif season as March 28, 2014 instead of March 15 under the scheme. This will facilitate farmers to re-pay loans in time. In another Cabinet decision, it has decided to accord tahsil status to Revenue Inspector Circle Badauni in Datia district. The new tahsil will have 36 Patwari Halkas and 78 villages. One post each of tahsildar and naib tahsildar, five Assistant Grade-3 and six other posts have been sanctioned for the new tahsil.
In view of necessity for transfers of contractual school teachers having assumed duties as contractual school teachers Grade 1, 2 and 3, the Cabinet endorsed the directives issued regarding transfer of newly appointed contractual school teachers within the local body and from one body to another if posts were vacant category-wise/reservation-wise/subject-wise. Only women teachers will get this benefit.
The Cabinet decided to allot 18.500 hectares of land to NTPC Limited in Narsinghpur district to set up a thermal power project. It further decided to grant State Government’s security for availing loans and interest payable on it to Madhya Pradesh Finance Corporation for availing loans from HUDCO, commercial banks and private placement bonds.
