All arrangements should be ensured before nominations

Bhopal: Directives have been given to ensure all requisite arrangements pertaining to nomination process before its commencements in all districts of Madhya Pradesh. District collectors have been asked to keep in full readiness all related material including handbook, seals and guideline booklet. These directives were given by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri V.L. Kanta Rao to district collectors during division-wise video-conferencing here today.

Shri Kanta Rao said that all polling stations should have ramp and other facilities. Collectors should themselves study the checklists and guideline booklets to be provided to candidates. He asked all collectors to exercise special care while providing nomination forms to candidates to avoid any error in the nomination process. All districts should deploy video-graphers in adequate numbers. Every event should be video-graphed. Process to train staff to be deployed at polling centres should be started. Apart from security, secrecy should also be maintained at polling booths. Telephone numbers of MCMC members should be sent to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Awareness observers will arrive on October 25. MCMC preparations should be completed before that.
During video-conferencing, Shri Kanta Rao also apprised practical difficulties from district election officers. Information was also sought about election preparations made in districts so far. Information regarding arrangements for election materials, database of polling personnel, EVM, law & order, complaints regarding violation of model code of conduct, their disposal and action taken, election expenses monitoring, action by MCMC, paid news, advertisements, special executive judicial magistrates, micro observers, arrangements for vehicle/transport etc. and necessary directives were issued. Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri S.S. Bansal and other officers were present on the occasion.
