Arif Aqueel raised objections against Babulal Gaur

BHOPAL: On Wednesday Arif Aqueel of Congress made some objectionable remarks against Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur during the debate on the no-confidence motion.

Aqueel, while speaking in support of the Opposition- sponsored motion, remarked about Gaur’s personal life, which sparked chaos in the House. Speaker Ishwardas Rohani ordered that the comments be immediately expunged and reprimanded the Congress MLA for crossing “all limits of decency”.

Rohani maintained nobody is entitled to comment on anybody’s personal life. The matter was settled when Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh said Aqueel might have commented in heat of the moment.

Also the Congress leader also levelled allegations of corruption against Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Manish Singh. Replying to the charges, Gaur strongly defended the Commissioner and said no inquiry is going on against him.

Besides Aqueel, Congress leaders, Pradymuna Singh Tomar, Brijraj Singh, Sukhdev Panse spoke in favour of the motion, while Tribal Development Minister Vijay Shah and Minister of State for Urban Administration and Development Manohar Untwal among others opposed it.
